1. Purpose
The MSPC has been established to facilitate the sharing of cybersecurity and digital privacy information, resources, and best practices for all public and private agencies in Marin, with the goal of increasing awareness and helping prevent cybersecurity incidents and breaches.
2. Membership Benefits
As part of your membership in the MSPC, the Member will receive the following benefits.
- Receive the County of Marin’s monthly security awareness newsletter for distribution to your employees.
- Receive alert notifications from the County of Marin regarding active cyber threats.
- Access a document library with cybersecurity and digital privacy resources and templates.
- Engage with MSPC members through meetings, committees, and events.
- Participate in annual educational events for October Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
3. Membership Requirements
Membership in the MSPC is limited to public or private sector agencies and organizations that reside or operate within Marin County.
The members agree that they will:
- Share information, resources, and ideas for the benefit of all members.
- Spread the word about cybersecurity best practices and the MSPC to other agencies and organizations in Marin.
The members agree that they will not:
- Share their login information with non-members.
- Share information classified as private with non-members.
- Post inappropriate, inaccurate, or offensive content.
- Use the MSPC to solicit business from other members.
4. Liability
Each Member will indemnify and hold harmless the County of Marin and its officers, directors, employees and agents, as well as their respective successors and assigns, against any cause of action, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense of any nature whatsoever (including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees and costs, whether or not suit is brought, as well as other sanctions or compliance fees and penalties) arising out of or relating to the any intentional or negligent act or omission of the Member; and any omission or provision of incorrect information by the County of Marin and its officers, directors, employees and agents. This indemnity provision shall continue to apply to a Member with respect to the period such entity was a Member, even if the entity withdraws or is removed as a Member.
5. Membership Termination
The County of Marin reserves the right to terminate the Member’s membership if any of the terms and conditions of this agreement are violated. The Member can terminate their membership at any time and for any reason.
